The facelift Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to enter the Indian auto market in the upcoming months. And the major upgrade lies beneath the hood in the form of a new 1.2-litre diesel powertrain. In addition to this, the upgrades will also be done in the form of aesthetics, inside out of the car.
Showcased back in 2016 at Paris Auto Show, the new Hyundai Grand i10 is likely to break the covers in February this year. The new 1.2-litre diesel engine will replace the 1.1-litre motor that offered in outgoing diesel models. With this increased engine volume, the new Grand i10 will be more powerful rating the higher power and torque.
On the transmission side, the facelift Grand i10 might continue with the 5-speed manual gearbox. However, the carmaker can also introduce the 6-speed setup from Hyundai i10 to set a new benchmark in the segment.
The 1.2-litre petrol from the current generation Hyundai i10 will continue to serve the market alongside this new 1.2-litre diesel powerhouse.
Moving on the cosmetic updates, the major exterior change to the new Grand i10 include new front and rear profile of the car. The front fascia gets new bumper while the rear end borrows its design cues from Active i20’s design language. Though it’s not certain yet whether the India-spec facelift Hyundai i10 will boast of the fog lamp like LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) or not. Although, Hyundai could also introduce a different design for headlamps with the inbuilt DRLs that featured on i20.
Inside the cabin, the dashboard gets several noteworthy updates in order to enhance the aura with a large touchscreen infotainment system. This smart display will also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. We can also expect several tweaks in comfort and overall quality of the interior as compared to the outgoing model.
