Earlier in the March 2014, the Czech car maker Skoda introduced the Rapid Ultima Special Edition in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version was able to produce 105 PS power and 153 Nm torque with 1.6 Litre of engine while the same 1.6 Litre diesel unit was producing the 250 Nm torque. The other features included in the car are parking sensors, rear view camera, multifunctional steering wheel, audio player and new spoke alloy wheels.
Now, to enhance the sales more rapidly, the company is planning to launch the new Skoda Rapid Black Edition with some more aesthetic and mechanical changes. With this new Skoda Rapid Black Edition, the company is planning to introduce the new signature grille and new angular headlamp design which entered into the market with new Skoda Octavia and Skoda Superb Facelift. The speculations are high in the market that after the launch of this new Skoda Rapid Black Edition, the older version will be sent off as the current market doesn't show any sympathy for the outdated technology and old car models.
According to the internal market news, the upcoming Skoda Rapid Black Edition will get the black headlights, black grille, 16-inch comet alloy wheels, touchscreen infotainment system and black accent as the exterior and interior cosmetic change. And, the Skoda Rapid Black will house a 1.5 Litre diesel machine which would churn out 104 BHP power. The transmission will also could be automatic with paddle shifters in the new version, and cars like Honda Amaze, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Dzire surely have to face some challenge.
