2018 Suzuki Gixxer ABS Launched In India for INR 87,250

Suzuki Motorcycle India has now brought in a new variant for its most selling naked street motorcycle, the Gixxer. It is an improved iteration of Gixxer that comes mated with rider technological aids of Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The company asks INR 87,250 (ex-showroom Delhi) for this feature that makes it a more expensive trim than that of rear disc Gixxer variant by INR 6,321 and INR 10,235 as compared to the standard model with single disc brake. Besides the addition of this new ABS feature, the 2018 Gixxer did not get any changes at cosmetic and mechanical front. You can select the new Suzuki Gixxer ABS from the provided range of three colours including Candy Sonoma Red/Metallic Sonic Silver, Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black and Glass Sparkle Black.

At the launch event, Sajeev Rajasekharan, EVP, Sales and Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, "Ever since its launch, the Gixxer has emerged as a benchmark for the segment, managing to \'Stay Ahead of the Pack\' in terms of technology and performance. The ABS option allows us to improve on an already exciting riding experience for our Gixxer customers. The Gixxer series is an important cog of our India product-strategy. With enhancements like ABS, we will continue to improve on the value-proposition we offer to our customers."

In terms of features, the 2018 Gixxer ABS continues with offerings such as Auto Headlamp On (AHO) headlight, LED tail lamp, all-digital instrument cluster, chrome-tipped twin exhaust, a 3-spoke light wheel, and two-piece rear fender.

Mechanically, the similar 154.9 cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine will handle the propelling duty with the mated five-speed gearbox. The churned out power and torque figures for the powertrain are 14.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm along with 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

In order to absorb damp, there is a telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. While, the braking power will be offered by 266mm disc brake up front and a 240 mm disc at the rear.
