The homegrown car manufacturer, Tata Motors has finally made all the preparations for the launch of its long awaited Nano GenX via performing all the noteworthy renovations on this small hatchback to make it more worth and charming as compared to the current one. Already unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo, this runabout will hit the Indian ways tomorrow with the replacement of its predecessor. Notably, it will be appeared as the first cheapest automatic car in our country. Ahead of the launch, its bookings have already been commenced in India.
From the visual perspective, the Tata Nano GenX renders almost similar aspect as its existing model, while some of the aesthetic modifications are also making this mini runabout more glamorous than the ongoing one. It gets a large badge and smoked headlamps at the front end as well as piano black finish will also be seen in front just like its rear profile. All these furnishings have been applied on entrancing Sangria Red colored body that is enough to captivate anyone's heart at an eyesight.
Inside, the vehicle comprises an Amphistream music system, including 4 speakers and Bluetooth connectivity, Zest inspired steering wheel, latest interior trims, power steering, multi information display, front power windows, central locking remote, burglar alarm and externally adjustable ORVMs. Moreover, the base variant will be the one among all its versions, that will receive an openable boot.
Beneath the skin, this upcoming retouched model will be powered by the same 624cc two cylinder MPFI petrol engine as the current Nano, whereas there will be a new cylinder head and aluminium block. It will produce a maximum power of 38.19 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 51 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Notably, this mill is mated to a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), which has been shared with the Tata Zest.
Apart from the top end variant, all regular trims of the Tata Nano GenX are paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Both of these gearbox variants are anticipated to bestow a fuel efficiency of 21.9 km/l and 23.35 km/l, respectively.
