New Toyota Hilux Set to be Unveiled on May 21

According to the Thailand market reports, Toyota has geared up to spread the light over its next generation Hilux pickup on May 21 this year to make the complete introduction for the customers, who are terribly anxious to get familiar with this model. It is expected to go on sale in Thailand and few Asian countries later 2015. Based on the latest updated version of the IMV (Innovative International Multipurpose Vehicle) platform of Toyota, the upcoming vehicle will repeat the same gasoline engine as its outgoing variant, but an oil burner mills will get noticeable revision.

Spilling the beans about the updated engine, a 2.4 litre four cylinder unit will be available at the place of a 2.5 litre option to produce an appreciable power of 164 bhp and a superb torque of 343 Nm, while in the case of an automatic variant, it will have the capacity to churn out a maximum power of 160 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. On the other hand, a more powerful 2.8 litre mill version will replace the 3.0 litre unit to make the outputs of 174 hp and 420 Nm, whereas with automatic gearbox, it would pump out an incredible torque of 450 Nm.

Notably, Toyota will render dual driving modes for the first time on this pickup, such as Eco and Power. Both of these choices will help the driver via offering his/her options for the betterment of fuel efficiency or energetic performance. Reportedly, the interior will receive tremendous renovations on its top end variant with a floating center console touchscreen infotainment system.

The new generation Hilux arrival in India is yet to be decided, but it is likely to be launched in Thailand later this year as a rival of the Ford Ranger, Nissan Nabarra, Isuzu D-Max and Chevrolet Colorado.
