New Variant of BMW X3 launched in India at INR 59.90 Lacs

The German automobile giant BMW, has officially launched a new variant in the lineup of its popular SUV X3 in India. This new model is named as BMW X3 xDrive30d M Sport and will be sold in the country at a price of INR 59.90 Lacs (ex-showroom). This newly launched crossover is an upgraded version of the X3 model and it will be available in two trims namely- X3 xDrive30d M Sport and X3 xDrive20d.

On the occasion of this launch, the President of BMW Group India, Mr Philipp Von Sahr was quoted as saying, “The BMW X3 is built for both the small and big challenges that each day brings. The new BMW X3 xDrive30d M Sport with a perfect blend of sporting character, impressive performance and appealing design makes every journey an unforgettable experience.”

From outside, this crossover gets light-weighted alloy wheels and an aerodynamic package. The exterior body also highlights 'M' logos all around the vehicle which differentiates this model from the standard variants. Coming to the interior, this new model carries sport seats, coal-shaded sporty headliners and a leather-wrapped M steering wheel. The new X3 variant also gets a glass roof that offers a beautiful panoramic view.

The next generation iDrive system will also be offered in this variant along with various driving modes namely, Comfort mode, Eco Pro mode, Sport mode and Sport Plus mode.

This crossover is powered by a 3 litre, six-cylinder diesel engine that can generate a power of 258 PS and 560Nm of torque. This powetrain is clubbed with an eight-speed automatic transmission system. The model is claimed to achieve a mind-blowing acceleration of 0-100 in just 5.9 seconds with the maximum speed of 232kmph.

This new X3 variant is available for sale in six shades- Alpine White, Melbourne Red, Space Grey, Glacier Silver, Black Sapphire and Carbon Black. This model will be assembled at BMW's Chennai plant and compete with the likes of Audi Q5 and Land Rover Freelander 2.
