The German luxury car manufacturer is actively working on the Mercedes AMG A45 in order to further boost the power to 400bhp. This step is part of the plan to enhance the all-wheel drive mega-hatches to give tough competition to the foes including the recently launched Audi RS3 and BMW M2. The next generation Mercedes AMG A45 is expected to make its global launch by 2019.
Considering the reports from AUTOCAR, the 2019 AMG A45 model will feature the updated version of AMG’s M-133-designated turbocharge petrol engine and the multi-plate all-wheel drive technology that also used in current generation models.
This retuned more powerful 2.0-litre engine will receive a host of updates including revised fuel injectors, a modified turbocharger and subtle changes to the combustion process. These updates will allow the motor to produce a monstrous power of total 400 bhp (200 bhp per litre).

The new software map and unique ratios, along with the updated all-wheel drive technology and electronic differential, help the AMG A45 to reach 100 kmph from standstill in less than 4 seconds.
Let’s take a look at its current generation model, the ongoing A45 churns out 375 bhp which is significantly more than 362 bhp from 2.5-litre turbocharged 5-cylinder RS3 and 365 bhp from 3.0-litre 6-cylinder M2. Another more powerful engine will be an AMG version of the german automaker’s upcoming 9-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox which will be featured in less powerful 2018-models of the A-class.
Back to the 2019 AMG A45, the exterior bodywork includes a higher amount of aluminium treatment which helps to reduce the overall kerb weight of this supercar. This time, it will also slightly longer over the current generation model.
Currently in the early phases of development, the next generation 2019 AMG A45 will not be the only AMG-retuned model in the new A-class line-up. Though, it will be a flagship for the increased range of the A-class models that also includes a new plug-in petrol-electric hybrid.
