If the Indian market report is to be believed, then there are presumptions that the next generation Audi R8 will arrive at the dealerships in India early next year. Unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show last month, the everyday supercar from Audi is likely to share its engine with the Lamborghini Huracan, a 5.2 litre V10 unit. While, a 4.2 litre V8 engine variants will be ditched, a superb 2-tron version will take entry into the international markets to churn out an impressive power of 455 hp. We are sorry to inform you that this latest trim won't be made for India.
The former one will be capable to produce two output states, 540 hp and 610 hp, while the latter one will be capable to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.2 second ahead of achieving a top speed of 330 km/h. Thanks to the use of all new Space Frame, the second generation R8 is reported to be 50 kg lighter and 10 percent more fuel efficient that its current model. Undoubtedly, this second generation supercar is likely to be more powerful and energetic with regard to the existing R8.
Aesthetically, it will get LED headlights, dynamic turn indicator, 19 inch alloy wheels and a virtual cockpit system. Audi will import this upcoming car to India via CBU route between the expected price of INR 1.8 Crore to INR 2 Crore. The new R8 will compete against the Mercedes AMG GT, Porsche 911 and Jaguar F Type.
