Recently, the 10th generation Honda Civic has been unwrapped officially in North America, which is going to be a US spec model. This sedan is based on a totally new platform with a pronounced sloping roofline. It will be introduced in different body styles including coupe, hatchback, Si and a Type-R (being first of its kind in the US). For the American market, it will be offered for sale by the end of this year. On the other hand, Indian market is still waiting for the ninth generation Civic, which was caught unofficially at company's production facility located in Tapukara, Rajasthan.

Further, the new body sealing techniques have aided in lessening cabin air leaks by a considerable amount of 58%. As a result, lower NVHs (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) are created. Changes in dimensions include an increase in width by 2 inches, height lessened by 1 inch and a 1.2 inch longer wheelbase. Apart from its fastback structure, which is quite a highlight of this new Civic, other elements like sculpted hood and sporty front bumper are also capable of seeking onlookers' attention. Completing the package, it also gets five-spoke rims, sleek headlamps with LED DRLs and C-shaped tail lights at the rear. Source of power will be a 2 litre, V-16, 4-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a CVT unit. Another trim will be fitted with a 1.5 litre, direct injection turbocharged i-VTEC motor that will drive power to the wheels via an automatic CVT facility.
