Skoda might set up its next generation Superb in India by the second half of next year. This runabout has already been unveiled in the Czech Republic last week, while it will be debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next moth. Based on the VW Group's MQB platform, the new sedan would save about 75 kg weight with regard to its outgoing version. Moreover, this vehicle will be available in four-cylinder TSI as well as TDI engines, while a plug-in hybrid is also anticipated to be introduced in this line up after sometime.
The Chairman and Managing Director of Skoda Auto India, Sudhir Rao said, “The focus is to see that engineering process are done more in India by Indians. Every year we are gradually increasing our localization percentages.” Regarding the plans for new Fabia, he added, “There are no immediate plans to bring Fabia to India. We are continuing with our strategy of being in value luxury sedans and utility vehicles in the country.” Notably, the car maker had brought this luxury runabout to India via CKD route and its updated version will also be arriving in the country through this same route.
It would create an obstruction against the likes of Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Peugeot 508. As its sketched image has already been revealed, which confirms that the vehicle gets tremendous cosmetic features and the current information says that the Updated Superb is expected to be priced between INR 20-25 Lacs.
