After a lot of rumors and speculations, the famous automobile brand Bajaj has finally confirmed that it will launch RE60 on 25 September, 2015. Actually, due to some judicial proceeding regarding safety, the government hadn't given the permission for the launch, otherwise it would have been running on the roads in the year 2013. The brand is also considering to export this vehicle in LHD version to countries like Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Egypt.

RE60 will be powered by a 216 cc single-cylinder water-cooled 4-stroke petrol engine, which will be fitted at the back side just like TATA Nano. The mileage capacity of this four wheeler is rated at 37km/l and is coupled with 5-speed manual transmission. Apart from this, it will emit around 60 g/km of CO2, which will be helpful in protecting the environment from pollution to some extent.

After that, the company will introduce this upcoming model with LPG as well as CNG variants, and the CNG RE60 is likely to return a mileage of 40km/kg. Since, this vehicle is developed as an alternative to auto rickshaws, the company has not fitted more features so as to reduce the overall cost.

To ensure the safety of occupants, it has strong doors along with an extra wheel to keep the auto more stable. If report market is to be believed then, the brand will produce 60,000 units in a year, which is enough to be sold in India as well as in the overseas market. The price and other details will be disclosed after the launch.
