Motor Vehicle manufacturing company, Piaggio has been assertive to expand its Motoplex showroom in India. Along with four on-going exclusive showrooms in India, Aprilia plans to add more vehicles under its umbrella.
The Italian manufacturer Aprilia will launch two new models (Shiver 900 and the Dorsoduro 900) in the upcoming weeks. Both models of bike will be imported from Italy and it will be carried through completely-built-up (CBU) units. The most interesting thing is that Shiver 900 model is the most affordable model of Aprilia one can buy in India. The competitor Ducati Monster will be priced at Rs 13.33 lakh (ex-showroom Pune) whereas Dorsoduro 900 will be available at a Rs 13.84 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). Therefore, Dorsoduro 900 is the second affordable motorcycle of Aprilia in India.
The Shiver and the Dorsoduro earlier were consist with 750cc engine. Aprilia have been update both bikes and added more 150cc displacement bump to make it 900cc this was done to have more torque at low and mid-range for maximum excitement. The Italian motorcycle also fulfils Euro4 emission norms or rules. So now both the motorcycle generate 95.2bhp at 8750rpm and peak torque 89Nm 6500rpm. Apart from the engine, Shiver 900 and the Dorsoduro 900 have been modified with better electronics. Dorsoduro has been equipped with three- level settings whereas Shiver 900 operates on a single-level traction control. Antilock Braking Sytem, ride-by-wire system and different riding modes are some of the of the features of both motorcycles
The bookings for the new Shiver 900 and the Dorsoduro will begin in the next few days at all Motoplex showrooms.
