On the sidelines of the launch of the new-generation Panamera Turbo in India, the German automobile manufacturer confirmed the launch of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid very soon. The bookings for the car will commence shortly. While, the automaker said that the deliveries could be possible by early 2018.
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will be loaded with the same 4.0 litre, V8 petrol engine that is capable of delivering 541 bhp of maximum power. But, the V8 in the hybrid comes with a 134 bhp electric motor, which brings the total power output to 671 bhp along with a cumulative peak torque of 850 Nm. The powermill is coupled to the same 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic transmission in an all-wheel drive configuration. With this additional power, the car is able to sprint 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds.
The hybrid model will also get the extended wheelbase format similar to the Panamera Turbo. The hybrid version might get a unique design stance with some sharing with the Panamera Turbo executive model. There is an exclusive ‘E-Hybrid’ badging on both sides of the door.
In the front, you find the sloping bonnet with strip-like character lines, 4-point leadlight cluster, large air intakes and a new massive central air dam. The rear comes with the wraparound LED taillights attached with retractable split spoiler as seen in the recent new-generation Panameras. The cabin remains untweaked with same luxury options and features.
