As the country is looking forward to replacing vehicles with the combustion engine in order to restrain increasing pollution issue from the electric vehicle, only by 2030. The auto majors have started working out for developing eco-friendly motor vehicles. The Indian arm of the French Maker Renault is also the one that will join the fleet and the model from brand will be Renault Dezir which recently is in concept form.
As reported from ETAuto, the company is thinking to unveil Renault Dezir concept at the approaching Auto Expo in 2018. Earlier than this, the Concept Sports had marked its presence in India at the Auto Expo 2012.
However, 2010 Paris Motor Show was the first platform where the DeZir was unwrapped in front of the global audience. Now, the concept has gone through a full underbody fairing treatment and gets a rear diffuser which not only improved the aerodynamics of the car but also reduced its drag coefficient to a comparatively low (0.25 Cd) measure. Look wise, this Renault Dezir concept seems an emotional design study.

It is 4,225 mm long, 1,968 mm wide and 1,163 mm tall in dimensions and has an extremely low ground clearance of 110mm. Launched in 2012, the fourth generation Renault Clio draws designing inspiration from the Dezir concept. it is a 2-door coupe which is furnished with gull-wing doors with door opening mechanism in opposite direction.
Powered by a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery behind the bench seat, the Dezir gets the maximum power of 110kW along with 226 Nm peak torque from an electric motor situated in mid-rear position.
The mentioned lithium-ion battery takes eight hours to charge from standard charging. Whereas, with the help of a 400V three-phase current, the 80% of the battery can be charged in just 20 minutes. The travel distance of Dezir in full charge condition is 160 km.
In terms of performance, the 830kg DeZir Concept is rated to complete 0-50km/h sprint in two seconds while it takes only five seconds to reach from standstill position to 100km/h. For braking, there are 356mm ventilated disc brakes at both front and rear wheels.
Moreover, an interesting feature from Forumala 1’s KERS, has also been included for Kinetic Energy Recovery System that recovers and stores Kinetic energy in the battery while braking. The stored energy can be utilized to boost up when required just by a button press located on the steering wheel.
