Renault has finally rolled out the much awaited hatchback Kwid in India at INR 2.57 Lacs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It has been introduced with 6 variants namely Std, RXE, RXE (O), RXL, RXT and RXT (O). Based on new CMF-A platform jointly developed under Renault-Nissan alliance, this hatchback has been manufactured at company's production plant located in Chennai with 98% localisation.

Dimension wise, it gets a length of 3,679 mm, width of 3,679 mm and height of 1,478 mm, ground clearance of 180mm accompanied by 1,478 mm of wheelbase. If we talk about the exteriors, it looks like a sporty SUV with a distinctive grille flanked by huge headlamps. Apart from this, it also flaunts, black colored ORVMs, body cladding on either side, black colored door handles and door sills, along with a sculpted bonnet.

Moving on to the interiors, it is equipped with power steering, digital instrument cluster, AC, front power windows and keyless entry. Furthermore, it offers 7-inch touchscreen MediaNAV system compatible with Bluetooth, and USB/AUX cable. The cabin boasts of proper headroom as well as legroom with 300 liters boot space, thereby creating more space for storing luggage. This type of boot capacity is generally not found in a compact vehicle. To ensure safety, there are various important components like central locking and driver side airbags as an optional feature in top ranging variants.
Under the hood, it is packed with a 799 cc three-cylinder petrol engine that is tuned to pump out 54bhp of power and 72 Nm of torque. Transmission is take care of by a five-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of this vehicle is 25.17 km/l, which is quite generous. The company also proposes 2 years or 50,000 km warranty for all the variants.
