Following the recent updates, Renault India is planning to bring a new variant of the Lodgy model. The new variant will be offered with a new six-speed Easy-R AMT gearbox. Recently, Renault launched the Duster facelift after a long while. Now, the automaker is readying the Lodgy with the same gearbox. The new duster comes loaded with the powerful 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine which is further paired to a six-speed AMT unit. The engine churns out a maximum power output of 110 PS.
As of now, the Lodgy will be powered by the same engine and the transmission, so it's easy to say that the MPV can handle the underpinning efficiently. The gearbox will be easy to calibrate with the MPV. The expected Lodgy variant will take away the AMT gearbox on its mid and top trims, RXL and RXZ.
It is believed that by launching the new Lodgy, the automaker is trying to build a new grip in this competitive auto market. It will be the company's response to the prominent rivals like Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta. We have seen that other automakers have already lead to the downfall of the Lodgy foothold in the Indian market. Moreover, Renault is also planning to bring two new variants of the popular Kwid crossover, namely, 1.0 and AMT. Renault has unveiled both the models at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo and received a fair response from the auto enthusiast.
