Rumor Mill: Kawasaki Versys 250 Likely To Launch At EICMA 2016

Trending rumors on the web suggest, the advent of a highly awaited quarter-litre adventure tourer-the Versys 250 from Kawasaki. Though, the 250-400cc segment is witnessing the obvious arrival of other two new products in same genre, soon. One is from the Austrian bike maker, the KTM 390 Adventure and the other is BMW G 310R, product from the German mareque.

Now coming back to the speculated Kawasaki Versys 250, this adventure motorcycle was on slate to launch at the last year EICMA, but it’s scarcity at that event was astonishing for the admirers. Since then various motorcycle shows has passed away, yet the Versys 250 emergence is almost confirmed this year at the EICMA in November month.

The reported facts from nearer sources in Indonesia, solidify these speculations. As the Kawasaki Motor Indonesia (KMI) has filed two variants of a new 250cc motorcycle. The registered names of the filed variants are Kawasaki LE250B and the LE250C, which affirm the existence of the bikes.

The same LE moniker has been used earlier for Kawasaki’s adventure tourers like its bigger engined Versys 650. Now these quarter liter offerings are sharing the same title. Some other talks reveals, the company is working on this project from more than one year. On mechanicals, the machine will share the same chassis and powertrain from the Kawasaki Z250, as expected. Basically, Kawasaki has used and keep on employing this 250cc DOHC inline 2 cylinder mill in multiple touring friendly motorcycle variants.

Apart from this, a few expected elements on the bike include, common design cues from the bigger Versys 650 and, the USD front forks and rear monoshock for damping responsibilities.

There is no information about the Versys 250 launch in Indonesian market yet. Still, we can expect, the new model is pretty much closer to go on production line and would launch in couple of month from now, may be in early 2017. While, the Indian market would also observe its debut with a premium price tag for the touring aficionados.
