The revamped Skoda Rapid accompanying some major makeover is likely to go on sale in India by August 2016. The C-segment sedan has already been spotted on the Indian streets while testing. The 2016 Rapid looks quite similar to the recently launched Superb. The front fascia gets reprofiles with sleek headlights.
However, the rear remains the same with minor changes in the tail lamps. Moreover, the interior will get more enhanced and upmarket in comparison to the outgoing model. It will receive Mirrorlink in-built infotainment system followed by value added features like Climatronic-automatic AC with dust and pollen filter, rain sensing wipers, front centre armrest, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs,cruise control.
According to reports, the 1.5-litre diesel mill will be tuned to churn out more power and efficiency. It might also come with the 1.6-liter petrol engine with better mileage. The engine will be paired to either a five-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission option.
It is claimed that Skoda's C-segment sedan Rapid will be introduced with a complete transformation. Post launch, the car will stand against rivals like Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, and the Fiat Linea.
