Skoda Superb Greenline to be Showcased at Frankfurt Auto Show 2015

The famous automaker Skoda, owned by Volkswagen, is going to showcase the Greenline variant of its Superb sedan model at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show. Its 66 litre tank with 1700 km range offers a highly efficient fuel economy of 27 km/l. This upcoming variant will be available with a 1.6 litre diesel motor in sedan segment as well in estate form. This engine can pump out 120 Bhp of power and will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, which is linked to an FWD set up.

In order to deliver a higher fuel efficiency, a lot of changes have been made on the mechanical front. This Skoda stands on low resistance 16-inch wheels and is equipped with longer gear ratios along with brake energy recuperation system. It is also fitted with start stop technology which enables the engine to start and stop automatically when the vehicle is stuck at traffic jams for long durations. Moreover, the cosmetic features have also been updated in a way so as to serve better aerodynamics, which will in turn help the car to perform better.

Apart from the above mentioned features, this model will also contain an oxidation catalytic converter and a diesel particulate filter, thereby assisting in reduced carbon emission. Even though, Indian market has several cars with a higher fuel efficiency, the mileage of 27 km/l is quite impressive considering the weight and size of Superb.

The Indian market will not witness arrival of Greenline variant owing to some fuel issues, but the new Skoda Superb will soon make its way in the country. These models will be powered by 1.8 litre petrol and 2 litre diesel powertrain options.
