If we talk about the ongoing Kia Venga, it comes with both petrol and diesel engines along with 4 different options. The petrol variants are powered by a 1.4-litre engine and 1.6-litre unit, generating 89 PS/137.3 Nm and 123 PS/156 Nm of maximum output respectively.

The specification of a diesel engine includes a 1.4-litre motor that is tuned to belt out a power of 89 PS and torque of 260 Nm while the other one is powered by a 1.6-litre, which is good for a maximum power of 114 PS and peak torque of 260 Nm.

To perform transmission duty, the 1.4-litre engine is mated with only a 5-speed manual, while the 1.6-litre is coupled to either a 6-speed manual or an automatic unit. When launched in India, it will take on its rivals such as Hyundai Elite i20, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Figo and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

Some reports have suggested about Kia's set up in India will take around a couple of years and would carry on the operations independently here with its own retail network. Besides, the company can also have back-end links with Hyundai for raw material.
