Recently, the first unit of Suzuki Baleno has been captured in images by a website. Considering this, it is clear that Maruti Suzuki India Pvt. Ltd has commenced the production of Maruti YRA (codename) in Manesar, India. According to the earlier report, the brand will be showcased this premium hatchback at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Probably, it will be available in company's NEXA range premium dealerships around the Diwali time. In India, Baleno will be known as YRA.

Under the hood, YRA will be packed with a 1.3-liter Fiat-sourced MultiJet diesel engine and if market report is to be believed, then it might be introduced in petrol trim that offers a 1.0-liter turbocharged BoosterJet engine. The YRA in India will be positioned above the Swift and will get stiff competition from models like Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20, VW Polo, etc. The only specification which has been disclosed is that this premium hatchback is based on a “lightweight” platform, while other technical details will be revealed later.

As per the market report, Baleno will also be manufactured for European and Japanese market, with its deliveries starting from the first half of 2016. After S-Cross and Ciaz models, YRA is the third car, which will be sold at the automaker's premium Nexa showrooms.
