Suzuki Displayed Wagon R at Ongoing Indonesia Auto Show

The Japanese auto major has showcased its popular hatch, Suzuki Karimun Wagon R at the ongoing Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2016, alongside the regular version. This Karimun Wagon R models is a mildly accessorized version of the one which is on sale in India as Wagon R Stingray. The Wagon R is being marketed as the low cost small car and mainly targets the buyers who can not spend much to buy a car.

The exterior body updates to the Karimun Wagon R include front bumper extensions, side skirts, outside mirrors with integrated LED indicators, rear spoiler with brake light, door sills, chrome treated muffler, sportier front bumper with reflectors.

Besides these, rest of the features like projector headlamps, chrome grille, chrome encircled foglamps and multi-spoke alloy wheels are same as offered with the regular variant. Inside the cabin, both models feature the similar black dashboard theme with silver accents.

In terms of the powertrain, the Updated Karimun Wagon R carry the same 1.0-litre K10 B 3-cylinder petrol engine under its hood that also powers the India-spec Wagon R. The engine is tuned to produced 68 PS of maximum power and 90 Nm of peak torque. The will be offered with an optional 5-speed manual or an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission).

Suzuki Indonesia is also actively working on an extended version of the Wagon R, a 7-Seater MPV to rival against the likes of Datsun GO+ Panca and recently unwrapped in GIIAS, Daihatsu Sigra.
