After the recent launch of the new Gixxer SF 250, the brand is ready to roll out the Gixxer 250 in the country by September this year. Also, the launch of a new cruiser is expected soon as the company officials announced that the motorcycle is in the development phase. The imminent cruiser will rest on the platform shared from the new Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 platform and expected to get the name- Suzuki Intruder 250. With the upcoming cruiser, the brand is moving ahead following philosophy used for its Gixxer 155 series of bikes.
In terms of design language, the motorcycle may inherit from its bigger sibling, the Intruder M 1800R or could be developed on an all-new design theme. The new Intruder 250 is expected to be a more comfortable offering thanks to a laid-back handlebar setup that will convey a laid back riding position with the revised ergonomics. In addition to this, it will get LED lamps at the front and rear end along with an all-digital instrument cluster.

In terms of power, the Intruder 250 is likely to be bolted with powertrain shared from the Gixxer SF 250. In conjunction with a 6-speed gearbox, the similar 249cc fuel-injected unit is rated to develop 26.5PS of max power along with 22.6Nm of peak torque. The engine is expected to get a different state of tune depending upon the riding capabilities of a cruiser. Furthermore, the suspension is likely to be taken care with a telescopic fork up front and a rear monoshock borrowed from the Gixxer SF 250. However, the suspension here will be on a softer side, as expected. The safety aids of a dual channel ABS will be provided as standard fitment.
When will the Intruder 250 launch in the country is not revealed by the automaker yet? though it is expected to mark its presence in front Indian audience at the upcoming 2020 Auto Expo. As far as the pricing concerned, it is expected to launch with the price sticker of INR 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In this pricing segment, the Intruder 250 will pose competition against the Dual Channel ABS equipped Jawa Bikes and the Dominar 400 as well.
