As we are on the verge of embracing the festive season in a couple of weeks from now, the Japanese bike maker, Suzuki has launched the new Gixxer and Gixxer SF (SP) Editions in India already. Getting an exclusive color option and upgraded body graphics, both the models are settled down for a price of INR 80,726 and INR 88,576 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The SP Editions of the street fighter are reported to be available in limited stock.
From the snaps, it has been manifested that the editions have taken an exclusive matte grey color with chequered flag graphics to enhance their sportiness. To add more, the duo package has got dual tone red-black seats and red rim strips surrounding the tyres. Nothing much has been changed apart from these subtle improvements.
Under the hood, the twins acquire same mechanical stuff consisting of a 154.9cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine forced by a carburetor. The mill delivers a power of 14.8 PS accompanied by 14NM of torque, which is mated to a five-speed gearbox.
At the time of launch, Mr. Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India said, "We are pleased to announce our latest Special Edition variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF, enabling us to expand our offerings in the Gixxer series. The Gixxer is one of our most successful and admired street sports bikes, known for its powerful performance, sporty style and it has been well accepted by the Indian youth. The SP editions of the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF stay committed to the exceptional performance and ability of the Gixxer and give an edgy look to the fashionable rider."

Unlike the current models that carry only the front disc brake, the Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF SP editions are available with front and rear disc options. The SF SP has been armed with 266mm front disc and 240mm rear disc brake. The suspension setup includes a conventional telescopic fork at the front and monoshock unit at the rear. While the fuel-injected variant of the Gixxer SF was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, the company might launch the same in the festive season.
