Suzuki Motorcycles India has reported dynamic sales figure for the month of July 2015. The firm has registered a 33 percent increase in their July 2015 sales figure, which is more than in the comparison of July 2014 sales. Furthermore, the firm sold 36,081 units in July 2015 as opposed to 27,118 units in July 2014. Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF played an important role in terms of sales. Thus, the firm is also planning to increase its product line-up as the Japanese two-wheeler maker, Suzuki, is working on an all-new 250cc engine, that will be introduced in the second quarter of 2016.
Speaking about the positive sales, Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL, said “Suzuki sales continue to show double digit growth despite a slight downturn in the automobile market. This is a very heartening sign and several factors are responsible for it. The 150 cc segment of motorcycles shows signs of growth and Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF, premium 155cc motorcycles, are both doing well.”
Gupta further added, “Also, Suzuki Access and Swish scooters continue to remain very popular choices in a segment which is seeing good growth. We expect an even larger percentage increase in sales around the festive period, and have a positive outlook for the coming quarter.”
The firm is working on new engine and platform that will be based on the Gixxer and Gixxer SF model, the new model will make it global appealing in the second quarter of 2016. The motorcycle will be powered by the 250cc engine displacement that will likely to be produced 25-28 PS of power, but to keeping the price factor, the manufacturer might use a single-cylinder motor in India. The motor will be developed in the country under the guidance of Suzuki's engineers.
