A single cylinder mid-capacity adventure tourer from an Italian manufacturer SWM, the Superdual 650 that was anticipated to hit the Indian market by late last year (2017), has been delayed. The recently surfaced reports from noted motoring forum, AutocarPro suggests that this dual purpose adventure offering will mark its presence at Kinetic Motoroyale network by mid-2018 (around June).
However, SWM Superdual 650 is already in India for homologation and officially it will hit the Indian shores via CKD route. Pricing for the motorcycle will be around INR 5.5 lakh that will pose it against rivals in category like Kawasaki Versys 650, forthcoming DSK Benelli TRK 502 and others.
Here in India, the Kinetic will handle SWM Motorcycles’ operations that is offering sales and after sales service for the multiple brands such as MV Agusta, Norton Motorcycles through its Motoroyale dealership network. The first motorcycle from the lately associated Norton Motorcycles will debut later this year.
For a reminisce, SWM is an aged Italian brand founded in 1971 and dedicated to serve masses till 1980. Post an interval of long 24 years, the automaker announced its comeback at the 2014 EICMA. Led by Ampelio Macchi, SWM Motorcycles has showcased its range of six street and off road bikes which will be bundled with powertrains ranging from 300 to 650 cc displacement.
an official press release shared by MotoRoyale late last year, reveals the emergence of SWM Superdual 650 in India as first product that will later be followed by the Superdual X. However, the Gran Milano Indian arrival is in darkness.
