Tata Motors revealed the concept of the 45X premium hatchback at the Auto Expo 2018. The company has confirmed the information saying that the new hatchback will be introduced in the 2nd half of 2019. The new Tata hatchback will ensue the introduction of the H5X-based SUV which will outshine the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Creta at the time of launch in 2019. The company is testing the hatchback and SUV in the market.
Mayank Pareek, Tata’s passenger vehicle business unit president, said, “In the first quarter of next year (2019), we will introduce the H5X, a new SUV based on the Omega platform. In the second half of the year, we will launch the premium hatch, the 45X, which is based on the Alpha platform.”
The new hatchback will take new ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) architecture and it will be first in the line to utilize the platform. Along with Impact 2.0 design language, this will be the second SUV. The new Tata premium hatchback will make its presence in the market and dominate the updated Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
The 45X concept is very attractive from different angles. The front and side profiles of the new hatchback are very sober as it takes minimum air to it along with the split rear spoiler. It is expected that the new hatchback will take similar styling details from the Nexon.
The Baleno-rival hatchback is powered by a similar engine as the Nexon with a different state of tune. The launch is expected in mid-2019, so we expect the car engine to follow BSVI emission standards. The latest safety norms such as Isofix child seat mounts, ABS, and dual front airbags will be available in the hatchback.
The new Tata hatchback is expected to price slightly marginal considering competition and pricing which was aggressive in past. We expect them to compete the Maruti Baleno in pricing which is between Rs 5.35 lakh and Rs. 8.49 lakh in the coun
