Tata Hexa Demo Units Starts Arriving at Dealerships

The native auto major, Tata Motors seems to have started dispatching of soon to be introduced Hexa SUV to its dealership established across the country. One of the demo unit has also been photographed at the company’s dealership in Gujarat, hinting prospective buyers an early look of the vehicle ahead of its launch, which is scheduled for January 16, 2017. Just like the earlier revealed details of features including both inside and out through a facebook group, the images of the demo unit has also been appeared via same method, but this time it is not from an official facebook group.



Bookings of the Hexa SUV had already been commenced earlier last month across all the automaker dealership here in the country at a token amount of INR 11,000, while deliveries will starts from the second week of January. Underpinned by the company’s existing SUV Aria platform, the upcoming Tata Hexa SUV will be available in fourteen different variants that enlisted in the below section along with their gross weight and kerb weight:

In terms of dimension, the all new 2017 Hexa SUV has been designed with 4,788 mm in length, 1,903 mm in width and 1,791 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Furthermore, it comes with a decent ground clearance of 200 mm and fuel tank of capacity 60-litre. To further enhance the off-road capabilities, it features the pair of large 19-inch alloy wheels and rugged body cladding.



Since the Hexa is a premium offering from the company, it houses all the contemporary and smart technologies. Besides, it features a new design ideology along with a more stylish flow and sleek outlook. The front fascia of the car receive aggressive projector headlamps covered by LED daytime running lights, chrome grille in honeycomb mesh pattern, a bumper with aluminium plates and a flat bonnet. Tata Hexa is also highlighted by additional accessories such as sporty alloy wheels, long roof rails, plastic wheel cladding among the others.

Inside the cabin, the Hexa SUV flaunts seven and six-seat unique arrangement. Some of the comfort features like, dual-zone climate control, distinct AC vents for both second and third row occupants, and an 8-way adjustable driver seat. Other prominent features include smartphone based navigation system, 3.5-inch colour TFT display in the instrument cluster, a 5.0-inch smart infotainment system, 10-speaker audio package from JBL and reverse parking sensor.



On the mechanical front, it will be offered in a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel motor which is currently doing its run in the new Safari Storme. The entry level trim of the Hexa will be powered by the Varicor 320 which generates 148 Bhp of power at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm at 1,700 - 2,700 rpm, while the higher-spec trim will enjoy the Varicor 400 motor under their bonnet that is capable enough to propel the unit with a massive power of 154 Bhp at 4,000 rpm with a peak torque of 400 Nm at the same rpm. A 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox will be there to help the engine for transmitting the power at rear wheels only. An AWD (all wheel drive) setup is also there, but as optional unit.



The automatic gearbox setup has four driving mode such as Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. These driving modes will be available on both  Rear-Wheel Drive and All Wheel Drive (AWD) units. Further explaining the modes, they will come into effect with the features like engine management system and Electronic Stability Programme (EBS), which enable them spot the driving conditions in Auto mode. In Comfort mode the power outcome and gearshifts mainly consider on offering a hassle-free driving experience while the Rough mode will yield your car to stay on the track while driven on the off-road conditions.

For safety, the automaker offers the premium class Hexa SUV with total six airbags facility as well as disk brakes for all four wheels along with ABS with EBD. Features like a speed sensing door lock mechanism and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) are also there. Well, no such detail have been out about the pricing aspects, but, it is believed to be laid in the buckets of INR 10 Lakhs to INR 15 Lakh (Ex-showroom).
