Tata Hexa Details Surfaced Online Including Price

Ahead of its scheduled launch in India on January 18, some details of the Tata Hexa have been leaked online suggesting the price and some customisation kits of the car. According to the leaked price mentioned at the vehicle's official website under the Test Drive Lab, the crossover cost INR 12.30 Lakh (Ex-showroom). Well, Tata Motors has now changed the text on the webpage but thanks to TeamBhp that somehow managed to have a screenshot of that page . Looks like a technical glitch or a human error that caused this price leak.

The booking for this premium crossover, which will be offered in 6 variants across 9 Interactions, had already been commenced from November 1st with the token amount of INR 11,000, whereas deliveries will start soon after the launch of this model. The list of variants comprises - XE, XM, XT, XMA, XTA and XT 4x4. This will also be available with the choice of standard 7-seater and optional 6-seater configurations, however, the latter only comes with the XT, XTA, XT 4x4 trims.  The 4x4 all wheel drive, on the other hand, or what company calls it ‘Super Drive Mode’ will only be offered on the XT variant.

At the same time, some media sources have also claimed the Hexa to receive some customisable kits namely Tuff, Expedition and Laux. These customisation packages will be offered with various other standalone accessories and can be availed at an extra cost from the company. Let’s make a tour of these packages.

The Tuff Kit will come up with features like - an additional body cladding including front skirt, side sill skirt and a rear skirt, a roof box, wireless charging with support tray, Heads Up Display with TPMS, 3D modular mats and few others. The total cost of this Kit is likely to be around INR 1.3 lakh above the price of the Tata Hexa.

The second customisation package, Expedition Kit, will attract Hexa owners who prefer outdoor activities and regularly take their SUV on long trips. This kit has features like - roof platform for luggage, puddle lamps, and a large waterproof luggage bag. A roof mounted foldable canopy is also there allowing you to rest for a while in the middle of nowhere. This additional package will make you run for a little over INR 50,000 from asking price of the Hexa.

At last, the Laux accessory Kit, a special package for those looking to enhance the overall premium appeal of their SUVs. This kit offers - chrome garnishes for the front grille, headlamp clusters, tailgate, taillamp clusters and new ORVM covers. The package also includes chromed door handles, puddle lights and an illuminated front logo. Besides, it is also bringing some features with itself for further alluring the cabin that are - anti-skid mats, carpets along with a chiller and warmer and wireless charger. With all these attachment, this kit will cost for almost INR 35,000 over the asking price of the Hexa.

Under the hood, it will be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder Varicor diesel engine which is currently underpinning the new Safari Storme and available in two different states of tune. The base variant gets the Varicor 320 producing 148 Bhp of power at 4,000 rpm with 320 Nm at 1,700 - 2,700 rpm, while the higher-spec sports the Varicor 400 motor making run the unit with a massive power of 154 Bhp at 4,000 rpm with a peak torque of 400 Nm at the same rpm. A 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox will be there to help the engine for transmitting the power to rear wheels only. An AWD (all wheel drive) setup is also there but as an optional unit.

Well, if the media reports about Hexa price turn out to be true, it will definitely lock the horns with its closest rivals Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV 500 both are slightly pricey from this.
