Tata is planning to launch the much anticipated Nexon Compact SUV before the scheduled launch of Kite 5. This year the Indian Automaker showcased various production-ready models at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The company has received some warm signals from the Indian consumers. So, Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Nexon compact SUV at the earliest. The Nexon is production-ready and will go for sale this year itself followed by the Kite 5 sedan.
Nexon comes with large 16-inch alloy wheels and offers a sporty and dynamic exterior. It is likely to rival against the likes of Ford Ecosport in the domestic market. It is likely to receive some major customization via Tata’s Personalization Studio. Interestingly, Nexon is Tata’s first ever sub-4 compact SUV. The projector headlights with some contrasting roof share some similarity with the recently launched MAruti Vitara Brezza. Additionally, it gets Piano black front grille, Ceramic side finish, LED Taillights, and shark-fin antenna.
Mechanically, Nexon will be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron Petrol power mill that is claimed to deliver more than 100 PS. It will also introduce a new 1.5-liter Revotron diesel mill, capable of delivering 110 PS along with a peak torque of 260 Nm.The engines will be coupled to a standard six-speed manual transmission plus an optional AMT gearbox.
