Tata Nexon Launched XZ Variant In India

The Tata Nexon has launched the XZ variant in the range lineup in the country. The carmaker has an XZ+ variant already existing for the compact SUV in the market and addition of this XZ variant will shorten out the distance between XT and XZ+ variants. The AMT model or the XZA variant is expected to take in the form of a variant in the market.

Concerning features, it takes the floating touchscreen infotainment system, voice command, Android Auto, reverse camera and more. It also gets height adjustable driver\'s seat and a projector headlamp, fabric upholstered seats, Whatsapp readouts, four tweeters, text readouts, voice alerts and much more. It runs on the 16-inch tyres in relation to dual-tone wheel covers rather than the machine-cut alloy wheels.

On the occasion of new variant launch, the Tata Motor Marketing Head, PVBU, Vivek Srivatsa mentioned, "With a continuous focus to introduce products that not only enhance the brand but simultaneously align well with the rising aspirations of customer segments, we are happy to introduce wider choice to NEXON customers in the form of a new variant - XZ. The NEXON XZ will be positioned very attractively to provide premium features to our customers. With fourteen exciting features, the NEXON XZ is yet another step towards making the brand more aspirational."

The XZ variant is not taking front and rear fog lamps, LED DRLs, and rear defogger. The XZ variant is in the market with the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel and 1.2-litre petrol engine options. The petrol engine generates a peak power of 108 bhp and a peak torque of 170 Nm, whereas the diesel engine develops 108 bhp of max power and a peak torque of 260 Nm. Both the variants will get the same six-speed manuals as standard. This subcompact SUV gets selectable driving modes including Eco, City, and Sport.

The AMT variant of the XZ will be christened as the XZA, whereas the manual models in diesel and petrol engines will be named as the XZ. The AMT variant has been revealed at the 2018 Auto Expo and expects a launch around May this year. The petrol XZ variant is priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh and diesel one is priced at Rs. 8.99 lakh in India.
