Tata Tigor AMT was earlier available in a single variant of Tata Tigor XZA at INR 7 lakh, ex-sh. The company has now introduced two more trims for the AMT version including XMA and XZA+ trim. The former is based on the XM trim while the latter draws inspiration from the XZ+ trim. The pricing for these respective variants stands at INR 6.39 lakh and INR 7.24 lakhs (ex-sh. PAN India).
Mr. S N Barman, Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Customer Support, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit (PVBU), Tata Motors said for the new AMT variants, ““In a constant effort to maintain our growth momentum, we continuously introduce advanced technologies in our products, fill white spaces and offer exciting product interventions to meet the growing aspirations of our customers.
This strategy also includes continuously expanding and strengthening our automatic portfolio. We are confident that our customers will appreciate the perfect combination of practicality and convenience these new additions have to offer.”
In terms of powertrain, both the new variants XMA and the XZA+ will be offered with only 1.2-litre petrol engine. It is similar powertrain that performs propelling duties on the Tiago as well. The claimed power figures for the powertrain stands at 84hp and 114Nm while the reported fuel efficiency is 21kmpl.
Other than the availability of Tigor in petrol and diesel trims, the electric variants of the model is also on sale but only the govt officials being availed with this option. However, the automaker has confirmed that sooner the Tigor electric will also be available for the general audience as well. In the near future, the test drive for the Tigor electric will also open that will be tagged with a price tag in the range of 13 lakhs.

In a partnership with Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL), Tata Motors provided 50 units of Tigor electric in Indore following its tender with EESL. Also, it was brand commitment of supplying Tigor electric to improve sustainability.
Indore is elected as the India’s cleanest city and this approach of deploying 50 Tata Tigor electric is in support of initiative to keep the environment clean and green. Also, the Tigor electric is rewarded with the title -”the Electric Car of the year” by ASSOCHAM. Both the Tiago and Tigor models were reworked to comply with electric powertrains.
The Tigor electric propels with the assistance of an electric motor that generates 40kW of maximum power via a mated single speed automatic transmission. The AMT here works on the front wheels. In the EV segment, the Tigor electric seeks competition with the sole rival the Mahindra eVerito.
