The Wait is Finally Over! Porsche 911 Facelift Launched in India, Starting at INR 1.42 Crore

The German automaker has finally revealed the facelift version of its popular 911 range for the Indian market at a starting price of INR 1.42 Crore (Ex-Showroom Delhi). Porsche had showcased this 2016 facelift range at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. The most remarkable updates to the latest avatar of 911 range include a redesigned front and rear bumpers, and a completely new engine cover followed by a new 3.0L twin turbocharged flat-six engine.

Exterior updates, the front fascia of 2016 Porsche 911 range gets the signature round shape headlamps with four-point DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) and large air intakes at the front radiator grill. At the rear, the twin exhausts have been re-positioned from the corner to the mid centre. The headlamps and tail lamps cluster also received slight upgrades. However, the major change at the rear section is the redesigned engine cover that completely transforms its traditional appearance.

Inside the cabin, the new range features a 7-inch touch infotainment system which comes with Porsche’s latest generation ‘Porsche Communication Management’ (PCM) and online navigation. The infotainment system supports Android and iOS smartphones connectivity through wire or wireless as well.

Under the hood,

Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S

2016 updated 911 Carrera is powered by an all-new 3.0-liter twin turbo flat-six petrol engine which also powers the Carrera S. This new 3.0L engine increases the power and torque over the current model with 20bhp and 60Nm respectively. With this power bump, now the engine gives a power output of 370bhp and 450Nm of torque. Whereas, the same 3.0L engine produces 420bhp of power and 500Nm of peak torque in Carrera S.

Both the engines are mated to the Porsche’s 7-Speed PDK automated manual gearbox, which transmits the power to the rear wheels. The new carrera takes 4.2 seconds to complete 0-100 kmph sprint, while the new Carrera S takes 3.9 seconds to do the same.
To adjust the height of the car by 10mm, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) comes as standard across the range.

Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S

The top-in-range models, Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S get an updated 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat 6 engine that is tuned to produce a power of 540 PS in Turbo models and 580 PS in Turbo S variants.
The Turbo reaches from 0 to 100 kmph in 3 seconds, while the Turbo S takes 2.9 seconds to do the same.

Porsche will bring the 911 facelift range in the country through CBU (Complete Built Unit).
