The all-new Suzuki Wagon R that was introduced in Japan lineup in February this year, is put on display by the automaker at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show in the company. In the images, the model is one of the two variants of the JDM-spec variant of the new Wagon R.
Dimensionally, measuring 3,395 mm in length, 1,475mm in width and 1,650mm in height, the new generation WagonR is based on the shared Heartect platform from bigger cars such as the Baleno and Swift. This newly designed chassis is lightweight and rigid in nature.
Beneath the front end, the micro hatchback comes loaded with a single R06A 0.66-litre VVT petrol engine option. Mated to a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission, this naturally aspirated three-cylinder engine is said to generate 52 PS of peak power at 6,500 rpm and 60 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The brand offers a 4WD system as an optional extra.
There is no hybrid badge on fenders and the tailgate of the exhibited car that demonstrate it is the FA grade model and does not use the mild hybrid system in the powertrain.
