I guess you all know about the 3-Wheeler car i-Road, which electrically powered and has the huge potential in the market. The car is the result of extra-ordinary out of the box thinking. The car now will be launched in the France, where it has to pass the verification test to become legal in the country. The car's unique 2-front 1-back wheel design and looks are the best part of the car.
The car has the 2 kilowatt electric motors in each of the front towers and in rear one too. The life of the battery of this i-Road car is not very high and the company is working on that as the current limit of a single charge is only 45 km. The maximum speed which could be achieved with the car with its motors is nearly 50 km/h and, I guess it's enough for the medium-sized city purpose. The car uses the Li-Ion battery to charge the motors. The dimension of the car is near to that of a bike, viz 2350 mm length, 1,445 mm height and 850 mm wheelbase with the turning radius of 3.0 meters only.
The car can occupy one person at a time only and this could be regarded as the drawback of the car. Though, the invention and technique used in it are absolutely remarkable as keeping the car stable with one rear and two front wheels is not an easy task; and the company does it by using an actuator along with the adjustment in the suspension system to maintain the balance.
