Triumph Showcases 2018 Speed Triple S And Speed Triple RS

Triumph recently showcases its new offering, the 2018 Speed Triple S and the Speed Triple RS. The makers did not play much with the styling and design of the new models. The new models inherit the unique design features of outgoing models. The bikes will dawn Indian roads in upcoming months. On the road, it will lock horns with the likes of Suzuki GSX-S1000, the Kawasaki Z1000, MV Agusta Brutale, 1090 Honda CB1000R, and the BMW S1000R.

Both bikes are based on the same platform and the only discerning change has been in the bug-eyed headlamps which now get LED DRLs. The increased compression ratio gives the new 2018 Speed Triple higher power. The oversquare configuration of the engine remains the same and it can now churn out 148bhp and 116 Nm of torque. It has now a six-speed transmission. The engine internals has been updated to handle the higher output.

Riders will be pleasantly aided by new riding modes and cruise control. Besides, the bikes inherit features like traction control and ABS. The feedback mechanism, however, has changed. The Continental IMU provides feedback to ABS and Traction control. Moreover, there are also 105 new parts added to the two beasts. The S model gets Showa units suspension.

From a safety point of view, the RS gets a quick-shifter and an additional \'Track\' riding mode as standard. It borrows Ohlins suspension setup and the disc brakes are sourced from Brembo.
