TVS Motor Company has reportedly sent out invitations inviting Media for a launch event that is scheduled for August 23. Even though the names of the vehicle to be launched during the event have not been revealed on the invite, it is being speculated that the company might finally reveal the iQube Hybrid Scooter, which was originally debuted at the 2014 Auto Expo.
TVS iQube Hybrid: The First Hybrid Scooter of India
TVS has been preparing to launch the first Indian hybrid scooter for some time now and has already registered a new logo along with a new trademark for the scooter. It is very much possible that the scooter will be launched during the company’s upcoming event on 23 August. The iQube Hybrid comes with an electric motor and an internal combustion 110cc single-cylinder petrol engine. The electric motor will be offered in two battery options of 150-Watt and 500-Watt. The scooter is expected to produce a fuel efficiency of 70+ km per litre.

With this information in hand, there might be a revolution waiting to be seen in India. As the hybrid scooter concept is totally new and the inception will take other two wheeler manufacturers in hand for a similar offering. However, the concept of hybrid scooter is not as easy as it seems, due to paramount cost addition and maintenance factors, there might be some initial ignorance but ultimately electric mobility is future.
So, currently the automobile industry as well as the common people must hope for the early arrival of this particular technology at its very best along with affordable price point. TVS might get good response in the upper metro cities due to the air pollution intensity out there but gradually it might become norms across the India.
