UM Lohia that’s still fresh in the Indian biking industry, is going to soon open the doors for an all-new segment- the scooters. If go by the surfaced rumours, the company is looking forward to launching a new scooter named Chill. It will be a 150cc scooter which will go against the sole rival available in the segment-the Vespas. The pricing for the scooter is expected to be around INR 70,000. The body design for the scooter is a unique modern classic that is further accentuated by the three-spoke chrome line that joins a thick bar running all across the body. The exhaust is a decent looking unit though the tires seem bigger than the normal 10-inches options.

The seat is with a hump in between to segregate space for both the rider and pillion. While rear receives a single piece grab rail. In addition to this, the presence of multi-spoke alloy wheels and chrome mirrors, it is clear that the scooter will be a premium offering with better visual components. With the single image surfaced online, it is expected that the UM Chill 150 is likely to hit the production line any time soon as the scooter seems practical for the development with the included components in the overall design. There will be a unique 150cc air-cooled engine setup to power the scooter as the company uses either 223cc engine for the Duty or 279cc motor for the Renegade series.
The UM Chill 150 is expected to debut in India by the mid of 2019 as no test mule of the scooter seen performing a test run in the country. Presently, as compared to the motorcycle segment, the scooter segment is on the boom. And it all started with the arrival of the Activa which took the market by storm and left other products left behind with a huge margin. As the Chill will be a 150cc scooter, it is expected to be packed with ABS as standard. Meanwhile, it could be a dual channel ABS setup as the rear wheel is spotted armed with a disc brake unit.
