Two new cruisers-UM Renegade Classic and UM Renegade Commando Mojave from American manufacturer has been introduced in Indian lineup. The models has been tagged with the price stickers of INR 1.89 lakh and INR 1.8 lakh respectively. While, the prices are applicable at Delhi dealerships. The introduction of these models has expended UM india portfolio to four, comprising the Renegade Commando and the Renegade Sports S. All these bikes are different in styling, paint-scheme and accessories while they share similar body, chassis, and mechanicals.
As the name suggests, the Renegade Classic is a classic cruiser with embellishments such as chrome bits, colour-coordinated saddlebags and round rear view-mirrors. Besides, the dual tone paint schemes- Candy Metallic Glossy Black and Copper White, add an old-school essence to bikes styling.
The Renegade Commando Mojave- Dipped in sand like paint job, rugged looking bike is named after the North American desert. Look-wise, it is a Renegade Commando, except paint work and host of accessories such as a tank-mounted zippered pouch, USB charger, saddlebags and larger leg guards.
Under the fuel tank, both the bikes are powered by the same 279.5cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected motor that does propelling duties on the other two bikes in the lineup. The engine is said to churn out the maximum power of 25.15PS along with 23Nm peak torque. While, the power transmission is under the consideration of six-speed gearbox. Other mechanicals on models are borrowed from the Commando, which comprise 110/90 R16 front and 140/90 R15 rear spoke wheels, 280mm front disc brake and a 130mm drum at the rear. Moreover, the bikes are equipped with an 18-litre fuel tank and have an excellent ground clearance of 200m. In the Indian biking industry, the bikes will go in competition with the likes of Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 and Royal Enfield Classic Desert Storm respectively.
