Updated Honda Jazz vs Old Honda Jazz: Know The Difference

Honda Cars India introduced the updated version of Honda Jazz in India. With the 2018 model, there is no cosmetic changes are apparent, although the car is more feature rich now. So, here is the clear insight on what has been really updated in the facelift version of the Honda Jazz:

Interior Changes:

There is nothing like to say that has leveled up the cabin as compared to the previous one. The layout and cabin design are almost similar. However, there is an option to choose now between all-black interior and beige/black dual paint interior. The same dashboard design, bigger Digipad 2.0 infotainment system and new cruise control buttons to the steering wheel are the detailing you need to know inside the cabin.

Exterior Changes:

There are no noticeable changes you will see in the 2018 Honda Jazz. Some subtle changes include LED band for the taillamps, chrome door handles only with the top variant, 2 new exterior colors Lunar Silver Metallic and Radiant Red Metallic.

New Features:

Considering the features, the 2018 Honda Jazz gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, although CD or DVD player has been removed. New Jazz also obtains cruise control, keyless remote, smart key system (touch sensor based), central lock hand switch, a driver side vanity mirror, front centre armrest and one push start/ stop button, which are not available in the previous Jazz.

Engine And Variants:

New Jazz gets S, V, and VX variants and the old one is available with S, V, E, SV, and VX. Further, the 2018 Honda Jazz is powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 99 bhp and 1.2-litre petrol generating 89 bhp. The diesel engine is fitted with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox, while petrol engine is with an optional CVT automatic and a 5-speed manual transmission.

Verdict:

The new Honda Jazz with additional features is available between Rs. 7.35 lakh to Rs. 9.35 lakh and more costly than some competitors such as the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Some features like grille design and Solid Wing Face headlights are available in global-spec Jazz facelift, but not available in India-spec, and we were seriously expecting them. So, considering the overall comparison, we can suggest not to shift from the old Jazz to the new one as there is nothing much out there. Although, when you are going to purchase a new car, then go for the new one with top trims as the price difference is more or less the same.
