After a long interval of four years, Volkswagen has recently re-launched its executive sedan the Passat in the Indian market on October, 2017. As confirmed by the company officials, the deliveries of this flagship sedan will start from January 1, 2018 that has been delayed. One of the considered reasons, the customers’ interest in registering their cars in 2018, is also one that has pushed the Passat deliveries since January next year. The bookings and test drive for the car is still on and interested buyers can either contact at the nearest dealership or can contact by leaving a message on the company’s website.
Here in India, the Passat is on sale in two variants of Comfortline and Highline that will knock its horns with the last year launched models such as the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and the Skoda Superb, its close cousin from the Czech Republic.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen is offering the Passat in only a single diesel engine option. Fundamentally, It will be the same unit that also does propelling duty in the Skoda Superb. however, the Skoda Superb has a wide range of variants and petrol engine on option too. The 2.0-litre TDI motor, that is capable of generating 177PS of power and 350Nm torque through the mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission. The engine in question is the same unit of the Skoda Superb with same power figures and the gearbox. There is an offer for the buyers you are going to book the Passat before the end of this year will get a 2+2 year warranty and four years of roadside assistance free of charge.

In terms of pricing, Volkswagen is offering both the variant at a standard price across the country. If you go with the Comfortline, you will have to spend Rs 29.99 lakh (ex-showroom). While, the Highline variant with all the bells and whistles on board will be priced around Rs 3 lakh more than the Comfortline variant.
