Volkswagen Renders EV Concept ahead of Paris Debut

While the Paris Motor Show is about to take place in a couple of weeks later, Volkswagen has already teased an all-new electric vehicle concept online. Hinting a little bit styling of the model, which is reportedly the first one to be based on the newly designed modular electric toolkit or MEB platform, it will possibly spread its glimpse by the end of 2019. Well, it might be the perfect time of introducing an electric car as the company is also facing many ups and downs due to the emission scandal. Recently, the Volkswagen India has also announced to start recalling its emission affected cars here in the country.

By looking at the pictures, which are giving more or less identical looks to the current VW’s offerings, albeit, the corners are slightly rounded. Moreover, the concept is expected to be similar in size to the company’s much in demand hatchback Golf , but, the interior might compete with the Passat, which houses more space inside the cabin.

According to a report, which was earlier revealed in a German business magazine that the production version of the concept will be capable of  running within a range between 400 to 600 km with the help of an advanced electric motor. Further, it is reported that the battery will take only 15 minutes to get charged up to 80 percent. In terms of the features, it will be equipped with a most contemporary technology including a 24-hours internet connection facility and associated with VW’s app store.

One must recall that the EV concept is part of the Volkswagen’s all-new ‘Together - Strategy 2025’ under which the company will introduce 30 electric units by 2020 as well as has targeted to sell one million fully electric cars by the year of 2025. If the Autocar reports are to be believed, the EV concept will be the second among the VW’s five proposed electric vehicles. Besides the hatch, other follow-up models from the company will be a crossover, a luxury sedan, a sports car and an MPV.
