Volvo Commences Advance Booking of its S90

Those who are willing to buy a car that has an amalgamation of uncompromising power and luxury features, this is the time when you need to lose your pocket as the Volvo commences the advance booking for its S90 premium sedan. However, the minimum token amount for the car lies between INR 1 Lakhs to INR 2 Lakhs depending upon the dealer.

For deliveries, you have to be a little more patient as the model is slated to be arrived in September this year. Once launched, the car will take on its rivals such as Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, and BMW 5 Series. Moreover, it will also replace the company’s flagship sedan model in the country, the S80.

Among the range of 7 diesel engines, the carmaker is going to introduce D4 diesel engine at the starting phase and might launch its D5 diesel motor along with all wheel drive configuration later. Mechanically, both the variants will come fitted with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder engine that is available in two states of tune. Where the lighter unit D4 generates 190 Bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque, the heavier D5 produces 235Bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. An 8-speed Aisin-Warner automatic transmission unit is standard across both the trims.

Coming to the design, the car is based on the same Volvo’s Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) which is currently running under the hood of XC90 SUV. Some of the features like Thor’s Hammer LED daytime running lights, grille, etc are also similar to the ongoing unit. Besides, it also comes attached with some fresh elements like wide air dam, grille with chrome accents, and LED fog lamps at the front as well as rear profile has also been offered with regular C-shaped tail lights that are flanked with the boot lid.

As soon as you enter the cabin, you will feel like you are taking the tour of XC90 that is also adorned by the same interior. Apart from these, the dash is also furnished with an infotainment system with large touchscreen display, Bowers and Wilkins sound system, new multi-function steering wheel, climate control and many others.

When it comes to safety, Volvo has left nothing up to chance and offers a host of features like pilot assists, city safe technology, active high beam, 360-degree camera, large animal detention, park assists and some other driver assistive features.
