Volvo India Range gets a Price Hike, Effective From April 1, 2017

The Sweden-based luxury auto brand, Volvo has announced a hike in price across its entire India line-up, the new prices came into effect from April 1, 2017. With the new implementation, all of Volvo products would see a price hike by up to 2.5 percent in their respective ex-showroom prices. The carmaker stated that rising input cost resulted in increased price of the models.

The new prices include a hike ranges between INR 54,200 and INR 2.5 Lakh from the smallest offering to range topping model. The entry-level car from Volvo in India, Volvo V40 receives a price hike in the range between INR 54,200 and INR 56,900 depending on the variant. Prices of S60 and S90 sedans are increased by INR 75,000 and INR 1.0 Lakh respectively (both the premium offerings are available in single variant only).

Moving on the Volvo India SUV lineup, the XC60 gets dearer by INR 75,000, while the price of XC90 has been raised by INR 1.0 Lakh. Well, it is XC90 T8 Excellence plug-in hybrid variant who received whopping price hike by INR 2.5 Lakh!

With the beginning of the new fiscal year, Volvo is not the only to revise the prices of its product. Recently, BMW and Mini hiked the price of their Indian product range. Besides, Honda and Ford have also upped the price of their models with the beginning of the new fiscal year.
