The Sweden based car manufacturer Volvo has the good reputation in the market with its limited fleet of cars. The company also done good on the global scale with about 9 million units sold till date. In India, the company has unveiled the facelift version of its famous XC90 SUV, which will be coming to the road for sale in the mid of next year. Now, Volvo is also planning to bring the hatchback version of its V40 Cross Country sedan with a few exterior style and interior changes. Although, the plans are still haven't been confirmed by the company and everything is the speculation, but as we say, there can't be smoke with the fire, so there is something going on for sure.
Talking about the exteriors, the V40 Hatchback version would look different from the Cross Country sedan as it won't have body cladding, roof-rails, large alloy wheels and some more features as well. However, the design platform for both the cars will be identical to each other. Inside, Volvo might cut down a handful of features on the V40 Hatchback to keep the price in check for the competitive Indian luxury car market.
Under the hood, the car will be powered by a 2.0 Litre turbocharged diesel engine powering out 150 bhp power and 360 Nm of torque with the fuel economy of around 17 kmpl. The price would also be around INR 23-28 Lac to keep this car in fight against the like of Mercedes-Benz A and B Class, and soon to be launched Audi A3 hatchback as well.
