Volvo V40 Cross Country Petrol Set Up in India

Today, the most awaited petrol variant of the Volvo V40 Cross Country has been launched in India at the cost of INR 27 Lacs. It is mainly an extended and updated version of the standard hatchback as well as this model has been emerging out as the most powerful vehicle in its range. On the outside, the Swedish maker has spruced up the runabout with 17 inch “Larenta” alloy wheels alongside brushed aluminium finish. Inside, Volvo offers an impressive comfort and convenience for its passengers, including leather seats, rear parking sensors with camera, cruise control and park assist.

Safety and security have been considered as a noteworthy requirement in order to keep all its occupants safe while traveling with the help of an ABS, EBD, ESC, traction control, child safety, front curtain and knee airbags. Coming to the powertrains, this crossover is available in petrol as well as diesel fuel mill options and the recently introduced gasoline model is powered by Ford sourced 1.6 litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine that produces a maximum power of 185 PS and a peak torque of 240 Nm.

A 6-speed automatic transmission is present for sending power to the front wheels of this runabout. Spilling the beans about its acceleration, it receives a spectacular speed of 10 km/h from the stand still position in just 8.5 seconds. However, the oil burner variant has been machined with a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine, which generates an appreciable power of 148 bhp and torque of 250 Nm. This powertrain is paired to a 6-speed 'Powershift' automatic gearbox, which also transferred the produced power to the front wheels.

The Volvo V40 Cross Country creates an obstruction against the likes of the Mercedes GLA, Audi Q3 and BMW X1. Moreover, the company is also aiming to roll out its hatchback version in India shortly.
