The Volkswagen has revealed its most awaited Passat GTE in sedan and estate models at the pre-launch evening of the Paris Motor Show 2014. The eight generation Passat has been introduced as the third plug in hybrid vehicle from the German car manufacturer. The runabout will go on sale in the second half of the next year and it will be available in the market in saloon as well as estate body structure. The GTE is a unique model as compared to the existing variants alongside the redesigned front bumper with C-shaped LED lights, blue accents on grille and the huge wheels.
The carriage has been adduced at the pre-evening Paris Motor Show with a blue ambient lighting, leather covered steering wheel and the latest gear knob. It receives petrol electric hybrid powertrain and powered by a 1.4 liter TSI engine that kick out an output of 156 bhp. The electric motor churns out the output of 115 bhp alongside the torque of 400 Nm. The car produced the total power of 218 hp along with the dual clutch automatic transmission.
The VW Passat GTE accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 second and renders the average mileage of 50km/l with the top speed of 220 km/h.
