Volkswagen came up with its two new models which are planned to launch globally before 2020. Targeting the SUV and Crossover markets, the German auto-giant has introduced the world with the T-Roc and T-Cross model as the concept cars.
Considering the reports from CarAdvice, production version of the VW T-Roc concept will be globally launched by 2018, while the production model of the VW T-Cross Breeze Concept will come out on a later date. While the VW T-Roc will be salted below the VW’s bigger SUV Tiguan and in the same class with the VW Golf, the VW T-Cross will sit in the VW Polo class.
Both the crossovers have been confirmed for the development in Australia by the managing director at Volkswagen group Australia. He also suggested that there is a big potential for the car which can lock the horns with Honda HR-V. The German auto maker has also planned to launch a 7-seat version of the VW Tiguan and the VW Teramont for this year. However, the later one will also be available in an additional 5-seat option.
Both the models will be based on the VW’s MQB platform. It has to be seen whether the production versions of both the T-Roc and T-Cross will be available in 3-door and the convertible variants as they were showcased.
No engine specs or other details have been revealed by the manufacturers so far. The India launch of both the car makes sense, as the India is the potential market for the compact SUVs and Crossovers.
