Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR Expected Launch on April 14

Looks like Yamaha has some rigorous plans to take over the Indian two-wheeler market beneath its domain and surprise everybody by launching one by one new offering in short time interval. Just a month before, the Japanese automaker has launched its middle-weight bike 'MT-09' at the succeeded 2016 Auto Expo. The craze of this newcomer had not been finished yet and another product from the line-up is on the way to be launched on the coming 14th. Reports suggest that Yamaha is having a special press conference on the said day and would likely launch the anticipated Cygnus Ray-ZR at the event.

First exhibited at the Auto Event, the Ray-ZR is an 113cc Blue Core Engine scooter that is a major facelift in the current Yamaha Ray-Z. Although following the same aggressive styling ethics, the front panel gets a completely new avatar this time. It flaunts a bit more sportier now with a revamped headlamp, peppy colors and racy decals that add more grace to the commuter.

Under the hood, the tourer retains the same 113cc, air-cooled engine that churns out 7BHP of power and 8NM of torque via a CVT transmission. As per the safety point of view, the Ray-ZR gets an optional disc brake at the front and alloy wheels. With an impressive top speed of around 90 KMPH, the scooter returns a fuel efficiency of up to 66 KMPL.

Talking about the journey of Yamaha Motors in India, the Japanese auto giant has faced various ups and downs in the nineties. The scooter segment was incepted in 2012 with Ray that was basically for the female riders. Following the Ray was Alpha, which was a unisex small family voyager. Presently, the company's flagship Fascino is the fresh product in the market having a retro-modern design. By far, the results of these scooters haven't seen much success in the Indian two-wheeler market. However, high hopes are there from the Ray-ZR as it would probably succeed in grabbing the country's audience and may help in achieving the sales targets of the company.
