Japanese motorcycle maker has finally unveiled the most awaited commuter sports bike Yamaha FZ-S. The new FZ-S has got some unexpected changes which were beyond the thinking of its fans. This bike was introduced for the first time in 2008 when it shivered the other contender motorbikes of 150 cc. With later minor updates, Yamaha has finally revealed the next generation 2.0 version of this hot motorbike which are named as FZ-S FI V2.0 and the FZ FI V2.0. The bikes are priced at Rs.76,250 and Rs. 78,250 respectively (ex-showroom ,Delhi).
As the name suggests, both the variants of new FZ are now fuel injected. The most shocking changes have been made to the engine. The new bike will be powered by a 149cc engine instead of the earlier 153 cc.
This new engine will generate 13.1 BHP of power and 12.8 Nm of Torque which is lesser than the older one which used to produce 14 BHP of power and 13.6. The bike might look underpowered on paper, but Yamaha people said that the bike is 14% more fuel efficient and the emissions have come down by 33% than the older FZ.
There is a new instrument cluster in this bike which is multi-functional and has an “eco” mode for riding within efficient limits. The seats have been split into two with 10mm increase in total width. A rear wheel cowl has also been set on duty which will cover it in half pattern. Both the suspensions are re-engineered to deliver best in class ride experience.
The reduction in weight of 3 KG has also taken place with respect to reduction in power and displacement. Yamaha claims that this bike is now the lightest bike in the segment. Tyres of the bike have also got good bristles and design in order to resist breakdowns, however, the size of the same has not been disturbed.
